🤸 FAQs: ZAON Gymnastics Department

  • What is the right age for a child to start gymnastics?
Our introductory groups for both Rhythmic and Artistic Gymnastics welcome girls starting from 4 to 5 years old. At this age, the classes focus primarily on educational and recreational activities, serving as a fun introduction to movement and basic motor skills.
  • What is the difference between Rhythmic and Artistic Gymnastics?
One of our most frequently asked questions!
      • Rhythmic Gymnastics: Combines dance and flexibility with the use of apparatus (rope, hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon) performed to music.
      • Artistic Gymnastics: Focuses on strength, balance, and flexibility through floor exercises and stationary apparatus (e.g., balance beam, uneven bars).

  • What clothing and equipment does my child need for training?
For the first training sessions, your child just needs simple and comfortable clothing:
      • Gymnastics Leotard: A proper gymnastics leotard, or alternatively, a pair of leggings paired with a fitted t-shirt.
      • White Socks: Training sessions are conducted without shoes.
      • Hair Tucked Away: Hair must always be tied up securely (in a bun or a ponytail).

Note: All rhythmic gymnastics apparatus (equipment) are provided by the club during the initial stages.
  • Is gymnastics safe for a young child?
Absolutely. Training sessions take place in specially designed facilities equipped with protective mats and are always under the strict supervision of certified, experienced coaches. The safety and healthy physical development of our children are our number one priority.
  • How many times a week do training sessions take place?
For beginner and younger age groups, training sessions take place 2 to 3 times a week. Each session typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes to ensure that children do not get overly tired.
  • Can my child transition to a competitive level?
Yes. Our coaches continuously monitor the progress of all children. If a girl demonstrates a special aptitude, talent, and desire for more intensive training, we will propose moving her to the club’s pre-competitive or competitive groups to the parents.
  • Are there showcases or performances at the end of the year?
Yes! Every summer, we host the major annual gala for the ZAON gymnastics academies. It is the special moment where all our young athletes showcase their choreographies and receive awards for their hard work, creating a festive atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy.
